SMS Seydlitz – Brian (2017)
4.5 units, 24 seconds, German Battlecruiser
The Seydlitz is a fantastic ship. It has good gun
placement options and very little target area. The pictures are from Nats 2022.
Brian has a 50 round offset stern gun, a 75 round
haymaker, and a 50 round bow sidemount. He runs 1 full unit pump.
The bow section holds the bottle and regulator. The
gun pushes a little to the side to clear the bottle there is yellow foam water
channeling in the bow. The decks are fiber glass board.
The mid section from bow to stern: dry radio box, spot
for the batteries, a solenoid, the pump between the two motors, the ESC’s, and
the drive motors/gear boxes.
With the batteries in place.
The stern most section. The stern is very narrow and
Brian has a waterproof rudder servo with wire to control the rudder. Stern gun solenoid
is seen as well. The decks have magnetic strips to hold them down.
Rudder control is a bit complicated but challenging to
set up in this ship regardless.
1.25 inch propellers and a 3D printed rudder.
Back end with tape measure.
Brian has the option to switch the pump hose from a
full pump to a half pump but says he is thinking about removing the half pump
restrictor because he never uses it.
