Awards are given based on a variety of criteria,
usually at larger events. Most feared is voted on by the opposing fleet.
Similarly, best of scale, spirit awards, sportsman, rookie of the year and best
dressed are voted by the membership or the board of directors each event. Best
of Class is awarded to the highest scoring ship at the event in said class,
generally it works out that they are on the winning side the most and didn’t
sink often or did individual battles. The Founder’s award is given to the
highest overall score among all classes battling at NATS, the ships are
weighted so that typically a class 6 ship will win that. The Von Fluegel is
awarded to the highest score accumulated through an entire year in all battles
from just after the previous NATS through the end of the week of NATS.
